Brave the wall that this hole is in! Very friendly, attentive, fast service. Wonderfully delicious food, clean and comfortable dining area. Parking is haphazard at best.

Location isn't great, just west down the street from the indoor swap meet. Everything else? Great, the food and friendly people make up for it. Great shish kabob at a nice price. I had the beef while a friend had the chicken, both tender and cooked well. Rice is primo and half the treat. Would also recommend the vanilla cola soda they have in bottle, it's imported have no recollection of the name. Only reason for four stars is that it's really a hole in the wall, but don't let that put you off.

Family based business with authentic southeastern European food. This place is very unique in their cuisine. The food is freshly made with good ingredients. The balkans bread is superior when compare it with regular buns and the best part that they made it fresh at restaurant. They are very welcoming.

A treat for a different dining experience. The food is authentic and just fantastic. This is a true gem. The decor is minimalist But you came to eat not admire the decor . Staff were super friendly the restrooms were sparkling clean. This is a stop on my next visit to Salt Lake City. The food was very reasonably priced.

My husband and I had been looking for a good kabob place for a long time around the salt lake valley, we had tried several places, but were never fully satisfied, it was either too expensive, or not healthy enough, and then just recently we discovered Shish Kabob house. The food is really good, the portions for the price are great, you're guaranteed to feel full by the end of the meal. My favorite is the shish kabob, very tasty, the broiled tomato is delicious and I love their side salad (a mix of cabbage, tomatoes and cucumbers with a vinegary dressing).

There aren't any places like this in Idaho Falls, where I live. So when I had to drive my mom to SLC Airport I decided to head over to this place for something different. I had seen it on Yelp before and noticed that it was just up the street from where my Mother in law used to live and not too far from where I used to live. How could I have missed this place for the almost 2 years that I lived in SLC? I had the Lamb Kababs, so flavorful and so delicious. The rice and the salad were really good too. The only issue I had was that there were a few pieces of lamb that had a lot of gristle, but only a few. After reading the other reviews here, I will have to try that Cevapi sandwich next time.

Came here last week in between the lunch and dinner hours. It was dead, but the service was really friendly. My waitress was very sweet, and the owner was very outgoing in spite of the fact that he spoke very little English. I initially ordered goulash, but the owner wouldn't serve it to me, explaining that it was too old. Instead he recommended the cevapi, so I went for it. It was delicious! And huge, so I cut it in half and had leftovers later. The bread and veggie relish were really the stars of the sandwich, although the sausages were also very good. The whole thing only costs around four dollars, so it is definitely a great value. The outside of this building looks a little sketchy, but be brave and try it! You'll be happy that you did. I'm looking forward to returning to sample several other items off of the menu!

The cevapi is a sandwich of sausages in Balkan bread served with sour cream and ajvar (a Balkan vegetable relish) and it was fantastic. The shish kabab was good but the cevapi stole the show. Although you wouldn't know it when you walked in the door, this is actually a sit-down restaurant so take a menu from the front, sit down and you'll be served at your table. All of the drinks are from the Mexican market so your options are Sprite, Coke and Fanta and they all contain real sugar. Everything about this restaurant experience is truly is like stepping out of Utah.

Although from the outside it looks like you're walking into a sure case of food poisoning, I've eaten here many times and always leave wondering why it took me so long to come back. Nothing glamorous about this place, and don't worry about the constant eastern european tea drinking/mobsters hanging out in front, just go in order a chicken kabob plate with rice and watch some european soccer while you wait for what will be a dining delight. For $7 you'll get a generous portion of well-seasoned boneless chicken, moist lemon rice, and a delicious fresh cabbage, cucumber, and tomato salad. It's all fresh, healthy, delicious, and more than enough food for even my healthy appetite. I strongly recommend stepping out of your comfort zone and giving it a try. You wont be disappointed.

The food is east Europe style. The New York steak and shish kabob are very good. The Cevapi which is special homemade sausage with Balkan bread is awesome. Plkeskavica is the name of their special hamburger. Make sure you don't miss it. It is huge hamburger with a thick layer of cheese inside it! You can't stand it! Other kabobs are OK. All bread are homemade which is very good. Price is good for the quality. Service is good and the owner is very respectful and friendly. The place is not very big and fancy at all. You may not believe that it provides good food as I didn't at first. But I trusted a friend to give it a try and I couldn't wait to come back just the week after. So I tell you to give it a try as well.

Fantastic place if not just for the shish kabab. Cevapi was a little on the greasy side....
